ABOUT US

Returns Policy

At Mak & Co., we stand by the craftsmanship of our designers, gemmologists, and master jewellers in creating exceptional jewellery. In the rare instance that your purchase doesn't meet your expectations, our outlined returns policy ensures a smooth process for your peace of mind

At Mak & Co., our team of skilled designers, gemmologists, and master jewellers take pride in creating exquisite jewellery. In the unlikely event that your purchase doesn't meet your expectations, please review our returns policy:

  • Ensure the return is initiated within 40 days from the purchase date.
  • The item should be unworn, undamaged, and in its original condition for a successful return.
  • For hygiene reasons, we are unable to accept returns for earrings or other pierced jewellery.
  • Include the original ring box and all accompanying documents, such as GIA or IGI certificates or gemstone grading reports, when returning the item.
  • The jewellery must retain all of its original diamonds or gemstones.
  • Any alterations by a third-party jeweller will void our returns policy.
  • Please note that bespoke commissions, personalised, or engraved items are not eligible for returns, unless deemed faulty or pre-agreed in writing.
  • Orders exceeding a diamond price of £25,000 (excluding VAT) fall outside our standard returns policy, unless considered faulty or agreed upon in writing.

If your purchase adheres to the outlined criteria, a refund will be processed within 28 days upon receipt of the returned item.

In case of a lost GIA certificate, replacements are available. However, it's essential to inform your designated Mak & Co. contact before returning the item, who will provide guidance. Please be aware that replacing a certificate is a detailed and costly process, and therefore, a £350 fee per certificate may be deducted if jewellery is returned without it.

For damaged or faulty items upon arrival (not due to customer mishandling), we offer options for repair, replacement, or a full refund.

Please note that any replaced or repaired items are ineligible for return or exchange. Additionally, if you exchange your item for a replacement, have reset your diamond in another ring, or requested a new diamond to be set, your order will not be eligible for future returns or exchanges.

For clarification on whether your jewellery qualifies for return, kindly consult your assigned Mak & Co. contact or reach out to enquiries@makandcojewellers.co.uk.

Bespoke purchases

Custom-made purchases, personalised, or engraved items fall outside our general returns policy unless deemed faulty. Nonetheless, we are open to exchanges within 40 days of purchase for custom commissions provided they haven't been worn or engraved. Please note that exchange requests might attract restocking charges to cover the associated production costs, subject to Mak & Co.'s discretion. Should you opt to cancel your purchase during the production phase after production has commenced, you may incur charges.

Selling your jewellery

At Mak & Co., we don't engage in the sale or purchase of second-hand jewellery. This includes buy-backs of jewellery initially sold from our store or website. However, you're entitled to return or exchange your item according to the terms specified in our returns policy. If you're considering selling your jewellery, we recommend seeking out a reputable second-hand jeweller for assistance

Preparing your return

To return your purchase in person, kindly schedule an appointment in advance. For returns via delivery, please follow these essential steps:

  • Contact us at enquiries@makandcojewellers.co.uk or directly reach out to your consultant to start the return process. This step is necessary before returning the item.
  • Once confirmed with your Mak & Co. contact, carefully package your item using its original packaging, including the GIA or IGI diamond/gemstone certificate.
  • Avoid indicating the package's value or contents on the external packaging. Address the package as follows:
  • ‘FAO [Name of Your Consultant]’, Mak & Co. Jewellers, 33 Hatton Garden, Suite 33 3rd Floor, London, EC1N 8DH’
  • For UK returns, use Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed, ensure tracking and insurance, and obtain proof of posting. Mark the parcel as fragile and specify not to be left with a neighbour or on the doorstep. For international returns, select a reputable courier service, ensure tracking and insurance, and obtain proof of dispatch.

For a successful return process, it's crucial to adhere to the outlined steps. Failure to do so might lead to the rejection of your return by Mak & Co., which in turn may not allow for repair, replacement, or refund of the item.

Before initiating a return, ensure your jewellery fulfills the specified criteria or reach out to your Mak & Co. contact person for clarification. Any queries or uncertainties can also be addressed by emailing enquiries@makandcojewellers.co.uk.
